What is a Hydrogen Academic Lab?
A hydrogen academic lab is a purpose-built facility equipped with electrolyzer systems, fuel cell trainers, hydrogen storage, safety instrumentation and data acquisition hardware. These labs allow students and researchers to study hydrogen production, fuel cell characterisation, electrolyzer performance and complete energy system integration under controlled, repeatable conditions. Hydrogen labs are no longer confined to specialised research centres. IITs, NITs, central universities and engineering colleges across India are establishing hydrogen labs as part of clean energy curriculum upgrades driven by AICTE, UGC and SERB funding initiatives.
